coinlockerbaby.org up

Here we go, coinlockerbaby.org is up.

It was one of these grey, rainy days again and I felt this sudden to urge to open Photoshop. Something I haven’t done in weeks. I absolutely had to do an Idlewild layout. They’re the only band I can listen to all day without getting bored. Roddy’s lyrics are some of the most intelligent I’ve ever heard/read, the music is just brilliant so how was I supposed to resist the temptation of a Rod’n’Roddy layout?

Well, for the time being this domain will be my blog’s new home. There might be a few more things to come, all personal stuff, nothing that’ll interest most of the visitors of yuukitenshi.net. That’s why I wanted to get a different domain for these things.

Please update your links, bookmarks and such. Thanks!

Betsuma & Asuka news

Reading the Akuma de sourou yomikiri by Takanashi Mitsuba in Betsuma 8 was really strange. Having the story told from a totally different perspective, through the eyes of Kayano’s and Takeru’s little brother, made both Kayano and Takeru look so different. Kayano didn’t feel like the warm, caring person we know from the ‘normal’ story… she seemed so distant and cold *shudders* Well, that story is the epilogue of Akusou which means it’s finished now. Over and out.

Kazune Kawahara, known for the popular series ‘Sensei!’, has a nice long yomikiri in Betsuma 9. It’s nice to read something else than Sensei! by her. The story is so cute, I felt all fuzzy inside after reading it ^^;;;

Kasane Katsumoto’s new series starts in the latest issue of Asuka (10/02). I swear that everytime I’ve finally decided to drop Asuka, a few new cool series pop up and force me to buy it for a couple months longer. So yes, Katsumoto-sensei is back with a series titled Yasei no Bara. I loooved the first chapter… Superplants! Faito! (-_-;;) No, seriously, it’s a good combination of the usual Katsumoto weirdness, Boy meets Boy cuteness and teenage angst. One thing that bothers me, though, is that on the Asuka enquete postcard they ask whether you would like to see that series tend to be more comical or serious. What if all the Japanese girls want it to be some slapstick series? >_< Argh no. But I think that all Katsumoto fans will vote for a more serious direction. Oh and Clamp's Gouhou Drug/Legal Drug will be continued starting with Asuka 11. There will also be a Gouhou Drug clear postcard coming with that issue. That means no Asuka-dropping till the end of this year... (And a new chapter of Onodera Akira's Hayabusa will be in there, too!)

.hack//SIGN and the Scarlet Knights

Watched .hack//SIGN 16-20 last night. Brain is still bleeding, too much confusing dialogues. But no seriously, it was good.

One of the most interesting thoughts in those episodes probably was the Scarlet Knight affair. It’s really interesting to watch how the different players all have their own idea of what The World is to them – is it clearly separated from the real world, even if you can meet people online but also offline, where do you draw the line when it comes to relationships et cetera. Seeing how B.T. was rejected and hurt by Kurimu’s view on separating his ‘life’ inside and outside the game, it’s no wonder she allies herself with Ginkan and Sora.

But back to that Scarlet Knight thing: If The World represents a utopian world/state, it’s easy to see that it isn’t working with every character playing the game for their own reasons. Some of them play it as a serious simulation of life, with all the consequences this might have. I got the impression that most players go online just to have fun. If everyone played according to the rules, the Scarlet Knights’ job would be easy. But especially with what happened to Tsukasa, this is nothing but a nice dream. Subaru knows she can’t play according to her own rules if she wants to protect Tsukasa, thus she decides to dissolve the Scarlet Knights Legion. It brought a nice change in Subaru’s characterization as now she’s no longer the fragile but loyal princess (even if dissolving the Scarlet Knights was so typical of her showing how responsible she acts in every situation).

As always, I’m eager to know how the story continues. (More clues on how The World ‘works’? Will we ever get to see an admin? Who’s that ‘broken’ man? And what the heck is happening to Tsukasa? Is he disappearing??? Argh, cliffhanger >_<) For the moment there's so much Rahxephon and Witch Hunter Robin to catch up, though...
